I enjoy incorporating undergraduate students in applied statistical research projects and am a frequent sponsor of Muser projects at Duke. I have also spoken on undergraduate mentoring and research opportunities at statistical education workshops, and am the faculty Principal Investigator for my department's annual Introduction to Undergraduate Research in Statistics summer workshop. I am particularly interested in the formal teaching and incorporation of formal peer review in undergraduate statistics education and have led discussion sessions on the topic.
I am the 2021-2022 recipient of the Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Award, a student-selected and student-nominated award that honors excellence in teaching and advising of undergraduate students. Additionally, I am Co-Director of the Medical Statistics module (QMDM II) for third year medical students at Duke University Medical Center and co-wrote the curriculum.
